She had served as Director, Global Relations for Connoisseur Travel in Washington, DC. Jean joined Connoisseur following 17 years with Smithsonian Journeys, the travel program of the Smithsonian Institution, where she was responsible for their extensive portfolio of international tours (over 300 yearly) and the student travel program. She traveled extensively in n Europe, Northern Africa, the Middle East and Arabian Gulf while attending college in Lugano, Switzerland

A Master of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University with a focus on the geopolitics of the MIddle East and Gulf led to a 12-year career in international oil consulting with an emphasis on the politics and economics of the Middle East, before joining the Smithsonian team.

Jean serves as Vice Chair on the Board of American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), an American private organization working in the Middle East. She is also honored to serve on the Board of the Petra National Foundation US, working to help preserve and promote this world heritage site.
