Janine Balekdjian is a Fulbright Research Fellow in Ukraine and liberal activist. She has a B.A. in Slavic Studies from Columbia University and was President of of the Columbia University College Democrats. She has interned for the U.S. Department of State in Kyiv, the Moscow Times, and a Democratic Congressman. She is also a contributor to The Nation.
