Helen Alvare

Associate Professor of Law, George Mason University

Helen Alvare is an associate professor of law at the George Mason University school of law where she teaches and writes about family law, and law and religion. She is also a consultor to the Pontifical Council for the Laity (Vatican City) with a special expertise in the matter of women. She is Chair of the Conscience Protection Task force at the Witherspoon Institute (Princeton, N.J.), and the co-author and editor of "Breaking Through: Catholic Women Speak for Themselves" (2012).
