Francesca Koe is an active water-woman, Scuba Instructor and competitive freediver, who played a pivotal role in establishing Marine Protected Areas off the North Central coast of California.
Francesca holds advanced teaching qualifications from both the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and the Divers Alert Network (DAN); she currently serves as the President of the Greater Farallones Association, the VP of Team USA / US Freediving, and editor-in-chief of DeeperBlue.com. Francesca was also recently given a seat by NOAA on its Sanctuary Advisory Council (SAC) for the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary.
A former Director of Campaigns & Strategic Initiatives for the Natural Resources Defense Council, Francesca continues to be an advocate for conservation & ocean stewardship.
