Eric Cope is the proud dad of 4 internationally adopted children and the president and founder of St. Louis-based Smile Squared, a social enterprise dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children worldwide. Cope founded the company after volunteering at a dental clinic in Guatemala and being struck by the large number of children with untreated cavities and horribly diseased mouths. Many of the children could not afford a toothbrush. In 2011, Smile Squared began with the simple idea that when people purchased a Smile Squared toothbrush, another would be donated to a child in need. Smile Squared added a line of travel products in 2016. Each purchase of Zach's Bags™ and Smile Squared Travel Journals help fund wish trips granted to children facing life threatening medical conditions.
