Amer Aldeen, MD, FACEP, a Public Voices Fellow with the OpEdProject, is assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is the director of the Chicago Cardiac Arrest Resuscitation Education Service and director of the Community Sphere of Illinois Heart Rescue, a recipient of Medtronic Foundation's 5-year, $2.5 million grant to improve survival from sudden cardiac arrest.
