Donald Kerwin

Executive Director, Center for Migration Studies

Donald Kerwin is the Executive Director of the Center for Migration Studies of New York (CMS). CMS is a think-tank/educational institute devoted to the study of international migration, to the promotion of understanding between immigrants and receiving communities, and to public policies that safeguard the dignity and rights of migrants, refugees and newcomers. CMS publishes the International Migration Review and the Journal on Migration and Human Security, which Mr. Kerwin co-edits. It is a member of the Scalabrini International Migration Network, which oversees more than 270 shelters, welcoming centers and ministries for migrants, refugees and trafficking survivors throughout the world.

Mr. Kerwin formerly served as the ED of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC); the co-director of the Woodstock Theological Seminary's Theology of Migration project; and Senior Visiting Fellow and Vice-President for Programs at the Migration Policy Institute. He has also served on numerous boards, commissions and advisory groups. Mr. Kerwin writes and speaks extensively on migration, immigration policy, refugee protection, national security, labor standards and related issues.
