Diane Marie Amann is the Emily and Ernest Woodruff Chair in International Law at the University of Georgia School of Law.
Amann teaches in the areas of Constitutional Law and International Law. Her scholarship examines the interaction of national, regional and international legal regimes in efforts to combat atrocity, terrorism, and cross-border crime. Before joining the Georgia law faculty, she had been the founding director of the California International Law Center and was a Martin Luther King Jr. Hall Research Scholar at the University of California, Davis, School of Law. She has been a Visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland-Galway, as well as a professeur invitée at the Université de Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne).
Founder of IntLawGrrls blog, Amann has served as vice president of the American Society of International Law and as chair of the Section on International Law of the Association of American Law Schools. She is on the Board of Advisors of the National Institute of Military Justice.
