Teaching artist, mother and gun reform advocate

Dawn is a teaching artist and mother from Brooklyn, NY. She has a Masters degree in Educational Theatre from New York University and has taught in classroom and after school settings all over New York City. Through an organization called Rehabilitation Through the Arts, she has developed and facilitated original workshops in New York State prisons and has performed in several inmate theatre productions. This summer, she will teach a course at Sing Sing Correctional Facility entitled “Exploring Character Through Art.”

In the days after the massacre at Sandy Hook, Dawn became involved with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and traveled to Washington to meet with members of Congress to discuss the need for stricter gun laws.
