Author, Born Ready: The Mixed Legacy of Len Bias

Dave Ungrady is an accomplished journalist and a best-selling author. His most recent book, Born Ready: The Mixed Legacy of Len Bias, was published in December, 2011

Dave's print work has appeared in the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal and Sport Magazine, among others. He is the author of three other books on sports, including Unlucky: A Season of Struggle in Minor League Professional Soccer and Legends of Maryland Basketball.

As a broadcaster, Dave's work has appeared on ESPN, CNN, and Voice of America. Hey hosted live talk programming during the 2006 FIFA World Cup on XM Satellite Radio and has hosted talk programming on a variety of radio stations in the Washington, D.C. market.

Dave has produced and reported features on swimmer Michael Phelps and the Sri Chinmoy 3100-mile ultramarathon for the weeky radio show It's Only a Game. He documented the 100 mile Himalayas Ultramarathon for Voice of America television and Washington Post travel.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Dave was a member of the school's track and soccer teams. He was an all-conference 800-meter runner and the captain of the team in 1980. He was a high school all-state soccer player and runner in New Jersey and is a member of the Notre Dame High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
