Colleen Becker

Visiting Fellow, University of London, School of Advanced Study

Colleen Becker is a Visiting Fellow at The Institute of Modern Languages Research (formerly IGRS) at the University of London, School of Advanced Study. She completed her PhD at Columbia University and holds a MA from New York University. Her scholarship primarily deals with the culture of the early German labor movement, the history of German nationalism, and theoretical issues concerning representation.

She has published both fiction and non-fiction, including academic articles, art reviews, and essays, and she has presented her work at venues such as Princeton University, the Tate Modern, and Foyles Bookshop. Most recently, her flash fiction was included in the curatorial project 'Translation Games' on-line and at King's College's Anatomy Theatre & Museum and the multimedia work 'Elemental Dialogues' exhibited at 10Days: Creative Collisions. Currently, she is collaborating with film maker Sean Solowiej on the mixed media piece 'Endless Loop.'
