President, FanTrust Entertainment Strategies

Catherine is president of FanTrust Entertainment Strategies, specializing in international business development and hit-making for media companies in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Named among top female board members, she is on the boards of the Bell Fund, which has financed $100M in convergence broadcasting, and the United Nations flagship World Summit Award for digital media. Prior to founding FanTrust ten years ago, Catherine served as the chief operating officer of a Nasdaq-traded media software company, and was part of the management team that took the company public and grew it to a $300M market cap, executive producing news portals for broadcast networks. Canada’s number one woman’s magazine Chatelaine, featured Catherine in their millennium cover story: “Heroines: 15 to watch,” acknowledging her for excellence in technology innovation. Articles and opinion pieces by Catherine have appeared in the New Statesman and New Scientist and she developed and wrote the weekly business humor column for The Vancouver Sun. She has variously edited, published or produced more than 25 book, magazine and digital titles for adults and children about science and technology. Catherine has a degree in physics from Reed College and a master’s from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
