Brooke Richie-Babbage

Founder and Executive Director, Resilience Advocacy Project

Brooke Richie-Babbage is the founder and executive director of the Resilience Advocacy Project (RAP), a New York City-based youth leadership organization that works to empower youth to become leaders in the fight to end poverty. Brooke has more than 14 years experience in the social justice arena.

Prior to founding RAP, she worked as a Skadden Fellow and staff attorney at the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, advocated for health care justice at the Children’s Defense Fund-NY, taught the history of social welfare law and policy at Tufts University, and consulted for the Center for Law and Social Policy. In addition to running RAP, Brooke is as an adjunct professor at the Baruch School of Public Affairs, sits on the Board of Atlas: DIY, an immigrant youth social justice cooperative, and serves as the outgoing chair of the Social Welfare Law Committee of the Association of the City Bar of New York.

She is a Harvard Law School Wasserstein Fellow, a CORO Leadership alumna, and a member of the Activist Council of Planned Parenthood of NYC. Brooke received both her JD and MPP from Harvard, and her BA from Yale.
