Ben serves on the Executive Committee for the Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project (FilVetREP), where he led legislative and communications components to the campaign to win a Congressional Gold Medal for Filipino soldiers who fought in World War II. He has been a leading policy voice on a range of issues for diverse communities, including: Asian Americans/ Pacific Islanders, Filipino Americans, LGBT communities, Older Americans, and youth constituencies.
