Anisha Lakhani

Anisha Lakhani is an NYC based author, screenwriter, and freelance journalist. After receiving both her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Columbia University, Anisha taught English at Hunter College High School then went on to teach at The Dalton School where she was also the English Chair of the Middle School Department. She left Dalton in 2006 to pursue a full time career in writing. Her first novel, Schooled, was published by Hyperion Books and released nationally in the summer of 2008. Shortly thereafter film rights were optioned by actress Lorraine Bracco; Lakhani was also commissioned to write the screenplay adaptation. Schooled was rereleased in paperback in 2009 and is available internationally.

Anisha lives on the Upper East Side with her beloved shitzu Harold Moscowitz and contributes to publications such as Vogue India, Teen Vogue, Condé Nast Traveller India, Q and Quest magazines, and The New York Post. She is also the NYC Scene Editor for online fashion site PinkMemo and has appeared on nationally syndicated morning shows such as Good Day New York and Fox News on topics ranging from fashion and Manhattan society to current issues in secondary education; she recently guest-lectured at The Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT. In July 2010 she joined JBCStyle as the company's Public Relations and Creative Director. Dogs are welcome in the office and Mr. Harold Moscowitz and Mr. Luigi Maestro attend daily.
