Alison Brown, M.S.

Alison Brown is a Ph.D. candidate in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. As an Albert Schweitzer Fellow, Alison is working on community engagement and nutrition education in minority communities. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a Research Associate at the Center for Science in the Public Interest and served as a research intern for Joy Bauer Nutrition. She received her Master of Science degree from Teachers College, Columbia University where she studied Applied Physiology and Nutrition and her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Chemistry. Alison’s research interests include elucidating theoretical causes of health disparities, community-based participatory research, and active citizen engagement surrounding food issues.
