Agustín Durán graduated from La Universidad de Periodismo en Radio y Television in Mexico City and also received his degree of Associate of Arts with a minor in Journalism from the Los Angeles Southwest College. He has participated in numerous workshops and programs such as the Scientific Journalism offered by the Institute of Americans in the University of San Diego and also La Narrativa Latinoamericana del Siglo XXI offered for la Fundación Universidad de Guadalajara A.C. in Los Angeles.
During his work as a reporter, Mr. Durán received the Regional Spanish Newspaper Reporter Integrity Award by the Coalition for A Safe Environment in 2006, and also received the U.S. Census award for bringing to the process the most organizations in the region. He volunteered for a year as a Probation Officer (POV) in Orange County.
