Adele Bertei is a singer, songwriter and scribe. She’s written and sang back-up for artists as diverse as Sheena Easton, Matthew Sweet, Lydia Lunch, the Pointer Sisters, John Lurie, Oleta Adams, Sparks, Thomas Dolby, Culture Club, Whitney Houston and Tears for Fears. Adele left the music business in 1993 and began working as a ghostwriter. She facilitates songwriting workshops for incarcerated women in Los Angeles with the non-profit Jail Guitar Doors and is co-founder of WREN (Women's Renewal Network), a collective that supports women and girls in renewing their lives after incarceration.
